  • Karla McCaughan

    OWNER | DIRECTOR | TEACHER

    Karla McCaughan is passionate about swimming and water safety education and loves the privilege of helping give her students a lasting love and respect of the water for life. She is an Infant and Pre-school Aquatic specialist and huge advocate for an early introduction to the water. Karla has been in this industry for over 30 years, during this time she has managed several NZ Swim Schools. At her most recent, YMCA Auckland, Karla won several awards under her watch, including 2018 Swim School of the Year.

  • Aaron McCaughan

    OWNER | DIRECTOR

    Aaron has a long career in aquatics at all levels, from teaching and coaching to facility management. He was alaso the builder of this complex, ans as a jack of all trades, he deals with the water quality and maintenance and the day to day running of the plant.

    Aaron is intrested in aquatic exercise and rehabilitation and also loves that he is part of the team that has helped so many Northlanders learn to swim.

  • Vicki Putt

    OFFICE MANAGER

  • Geoff Butturiani

    TEACHER

    Ko Mataka te Maunga, Ko Taumarere te Moana, Ko Kerikeri te Awa, Ko Ngati Torehina te Hapu.

    Teahing water safety and swimming is one of Geoff’s many passions. Geoff first started working at Little Dippers 15 years ago. She is a passionate and dynamic swim teacher, and a great role model for our young swimmers.

  • Kim Komene

    TEACHER

    Kim absolutely loves working around children and at Little Dippers. Kim learnt to swim at Little Dippers and its pretty awesome to have her back teaching here. Kim is an ex Squad swimmer and really enjoys coaching the higher levels.

    Kim”s hobbies are all related to water, namely swimming and surfing.

  • Joy Kerr

    TEACHER

    Joy became a certified Ai Chi trainer at the ATRI in Florida, in 2014. During her years as an Ai Chi teacher she has seen so many students benefiting from it, physically and mentally. This is due to the combination of broad movements, breathing, warm water and music. Joy is also a qualified swim teacher. Karla and Joy worked together at SwimMagic back in 2009. Joy is a special human with a real passion for this program and has a warm and generous heart. Joy lived for 37 years in the United States and is thrilled to be back since 2006. Now, she lives on a farm in Okaihau.

  • Thea Hamann

    TEACHER

    I have a love for the sea. Anything from tramping to free diving to kayaking ro sailing my own yacht. I love to share my knowledge and teach swim and watery safety to the next generation.

    Classes: Preschool Floaters, Beginner Breathers, Preschool and School Age Arm Strokers,.

  • Sarah Fosett

    TEACHER

    I joined the team at Little dippers after moving to the Far North from Mangawhai, where I was a swimming instructor. I immigrated to New Zealand from the UK in 2017 with my family; we have enjoyed our time here and have settled in Kerikeri. Having the role of a swimming instructor is very rewarding, as I get to see the children develop their skills and grow with confidence in the water. My passion is water safety I love teaching the children life saving skill in the water. My spare time Is spent with my husband and three children, as well as running.

    TEACHER

    Hi, I’m Jana, being a swim teacher is really a rewarding job. It’s so cool seeing the progress that the kids make. I ahve always been passionate about being in the water and as a mum, I feel it’s so important that every child learns how to swim.

    Classes: Beginner Babies, Developing Babies, Advanced Babies, Preschool Beginners, Arm Strokers, and Beginner Breathers.

  • Jessie Senil

    TEACHER

    Kia Ora, I’m Jessie and I’ve been a swim teacher for many years at Little Dippers with some breaks for kids and studying. I am a mother to 5 kids, 3 are adults and 2 are still at home (15 and 14). All have learn to swim at Little Dippers and all love the water and being able to pass the joy and love of the water to others is one of my many reasons why I love teaching swimming. Having taught for so long, there are babis I taught that are noew teens who are still love being in the water.

    Hi, I’m Jo. I love being in the water and feeling that sense of freedom it gives me. Being a swim teacher enables me to help others to be confident and safe in the water while growing their love for it too.
